Don't Drop the Ball -- Be Faithful!

Uploaded on 11/9/2013

God has given us many things in life to juggle. Be as the faithful and wise steward that Jesus talks about in Luke 12. Be a good steward, and don't drop the ball on what God has for you to do.

Discussion questions

1. What are some verses relating to God's faithfulness?
Some verses to think about are provided here. There are definitely many more that detail the faithfulness of the LORD through the generations.

Psalm 36:5 - Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Psalm 119:90 - Your faithfulness is to all generations: You have established the earth, and it still abides.

Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that He Who has begun a good work in you is faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:23b - (He who promised is faithful)

2. Do you believe God is faithful to complete the work He has started in you?
God delights in faith, and without faith, it is impossible to please God (see Hebrews 11:6).

Even if you don't see the full outcome of circumstances or the fruition of all that He has promised, keep faithful and trust in God. Be faithful and obedient, and trust God to help you as you work to do what is pleasing to Him. We walk by faith and not by sight (see 2 Corinthians 5:7)!

Remember 1 Peter 4:19 - Wherefore let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to Him in well-doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

3. What are some ways in which you can follow through faithfully in obeying God, even today?
Take some time to reflect. If God has put something specific on your heart to do for His glory, go for it. Has He called you:

  • To a certain type of work?
  • To a certain ministry?
  • To give to a specific organization or charity?
  • To reach the lost in a certain area of the world (or locally)?

  • Spend some time and listen for His leading, and follow through on obeying! You won't regret it.
